Will Roomba 400 shut off automatically after it finishes cleaning the floor ?

I am placing an order for roomba 400.It is the very basic (cheapest) roomba. Without the scheduler, will it automatically shut off when it finishes cleaning the floor ? Will one charge enough to clean 500 sq ft hard wood floor ? The battery is just the regular battery not the long life one.
