I am placing an order for roomba 400.It is the very basic (cheapest) roomba. Without the scheduler, will it automatically shut off when it finishes cleaning the floor ? Will one charge enough to clean 500 sq ft hard wood floor ? The battery is just the regular battery not the long life one.

We are a small family with no pets. I’m considering the roomba red, but wonder if it would be worth it to spend the extra $150 for the scheduler. If I get the red roomba can I upgrade with parts later? Is that cost-efficient?
